Foxtrot is a smooth, elegant, easy to learn dance, very popular at a wide variety of social events, including wedding receptions. It’s one of the most beautiful ballroom dances characterized by long, continuous flowing movements.
It’s named after its originator, Harry Fox,who was a vaudeville comedian in the 1910s. He introduced a trot to a ragtime song in the 1913 Ziegfeld Follies that pushed other trots into the background. It became America’s most popular dance and remains so to this day as the standard of social dances.
