Proper ballroom dancing attire and shoes make a difference in students’ performance on the lessons.
Professional ballroom dancers usually use different type of outfits and shoes for practices of international ballroom and latin-american dances. However this is not applicable for children and they should wear universal outfits for both ballroom and latin programs.
Ballroom dancing shoes are especially designed with comfort in mind. They differ from the regular ones mainly because their soles are made of suede and are very flexible. That allows dancers to perform proper footwork using their toes. Meanwhile shoe lock is made in a way to keep the heel in the right stable position which helps dancer to hold the balance while performing dance steps. Ballroom dance shoes cannot be used outdoor and shall be worn only on the proper surface.
